Welcome to the World, Baby Girl!

Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to start. I guess we'll start with the birth story (a very abbreviated version of it, anyway - if you're interested in all the gory details we can talk in person). My doctor sent me in to the hospital on Sunday, November 8 to induce labor because the fluid around the baby was getting too low. After two days of drugs and painful labor, Baby Girl finally decided to join us! Apparently she was just way too comfy in there.
Shelby Rae Eye was born on Tuesday, November 10 at 8:12 pm. She weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and was 20 inches long. (For those of you keeping track, that means that she weighed 2 lbs 7 oz more than Brett did!)
There were a lot of people who were very excited to come meet Miss Shelby...

Nana and Pawpaw (Erin's parents):

Granddaddy and Grandmommy (Josh's parents):
Aunt Leanne (Erin's sister):
Uncle Jason and Aunt Debbie (Josh's brother and sister-in-law):

Michael and Beth:
Jeremy and Heather:
Jeff and Wendy (somehow we don't seem to have a picture of Wendy):
April (Mommy's friend from work - she looks a little concerned, maybe because she's about to spend some time in one of these rooms in just a couple of weeks...):
Rachel (Mommy's other friend from work):
Becky (she works there - that explains her super fashionable scrubs):
There were some other visitors, too, but I apparently forgot to take pictures of all of them (sorry). You may notice that there are no children in any of these pictures. That's because the hospital is currently not allowing any children to visit, including siblings. It was really hard to be away from Brett for so long, and we were sad that he couldn't come meet his sister in the hospital.

It felt like we were in that hospital room FOREVER!
Finally, after 4 long nights in the hospital, they released us around 6:00pm on Thursday, November 12. Shelby was not excited for her first car ride.
When we got home, I took a minute to show Shelby around while Josh went to pick up Brett from his grandparents' house.
At last, our little family was together for the first time. Brett gave Shelby a little duck that he had recently picked out for her, and there were some gifts for Brett from Mommy and Daddy and his new sister.
It's going to take some time to get used to being a family of four, but we're excited that everyone is healthy and that we can all be together now.
