Williamsburg

The weekend before Christmas, we all piled in a giant van for the second annual Eye Family Williamsburg Christmas Vacation Extravaganza.  This ride was as much fun as it looks! :)

We spent some time walking through Colonial Williamsburg (which I kept wanting to call "Colonial Trolliamsburg" because we obviously watch WAY too much Sesame Street in this house.  If you don't get it, be glad.)

Maybe we should get one of these fun contraptions for time out at home...

We also, of course, went to the Yankee Candle store.  The kids were all happy and excited waiting in the line to meet Santa...

...and then the story changed when it was actually their turn.

Brett did a great job, but Shelby was not amused.

Brett checked off his name on the nice list in Santa's workshop.

Later in the afternoon, we bundled  up and headed to Busch Gardens' Christmastown.
It's hard to see, but there's a ginormous horse behind those bars.  There was a place outside this stable where you could pet one of the Clydesdales and get your picture taken.  I'm sure that those of you who know Brett are not surprised at all to hear that he did not want to touch/stand next to a 1700 pound horse.

The lights and decorations this year were really fantastic.  I didn't take a lot of pictures, but this one is pretty amazing.

 Later in the evening, the family split up to do different things (Uncle Jason's side with Grandmommy to go on another ride, and our side with Granddaddy to check out the penguins).  On our way to the penguins, Granddaddy wanted to stop at the horse stable to sit on the heater for a little while.
This picture of Granddaddy and his mini-mini-me totally cracked me up...

 That's more like it. :)

 We failed yet again this year to get a family picture, but we did manage our annual picture of the two of us.

It was a good time, and this is what the kids looked like within a few minutes of pulling out of the parking lot.

The next day, we had gigantic pancakes for breakfast and then continued the family fun with outlet shopping.
